Each session provides increased knowledge and guidance in an interactive training environment. This program provides an in-depth working knowledge of ONYX Software to optimize operator color accuracy.

Course Overview 

100% hands-on. Create actual linearizations and profiles on a variety of wide format printers.  

Everything required to complete a hands-on calibration session is provided: 

  • 8 wide-format printers
  • Xrite and Barbieri spectrophotometers
  • Media (various LexJet media like backlit, fabric, and more)
  • Computers (you can use your laptop also) 

Profiling details 

  • Basic steps to create custom profiles and manage specialty inks
  • Color test forms and profile grading charts
  • Create custom SPOT colors and utilize tools to ensure color accuracy
  • Finally answer the question of “When do I need to recalibrate?” by implementing new verification tools

Requirements 

The only thing needed is YOU! Everything required is onsite and ready, but you are encouraged to bring a Windows 10/11 laptop. Demo copies of Onyx 22 software will be available and can be loaded during class.

  • Contone vs halftone profile creation

1:30 PM: Create the first of three profiles

4:00 PM: Profile verification - Color Checker

  • Evaluating the profile on the DCC Color Test Form
