OFFICIAL RULES
Start/End Dates. The Image Awards Presented by Sunset Entry Period begins March 9, 2021, and ends March 30, 2021, at 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (the “Entry Period”). The Judging will take place on April 2, 2021, between 12:00 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. ET with the winners being announced at 3 p.m. ET. (the "Contest Period")
2. Sponsor. The sponsor ("Sponsor") of the Contest is S-One Holdings Corporation, 1605 Main Street, Suite 503, Sarasota, Florida, 34236.
3 Attendance Requirement. This contest is open only to attendees of the Click & Print Event featuring Canon and LexJettaking place between March 29, and April 2, 2021. The entrant will automatically be registered for the full Canon Click and Print Event and has to attend at least one session to qualify to have their critiquing.
3.1. Eligibility. This contest (“Contest”) is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia, and who are at least eighteen (18) years of age as of the date of entry. Employees of the Sponsor, and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, divisions, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, and advertising, promotional and judging agencies, including the administrator of this Contest if any, and the immediate family members (spouses, parents, children, and siblings and their spouses) and household members of each (whether related or not), are not eligible to participate or win. Void where prohibited.
By entering the Contest, the entrant fully and unconditionally agrees to be bound by these rules and the decisions of the judges, which will be final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest. There is NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND NECESSARY to participate in the Contest. A purchase does not improve your chance of winning.
Limit one (1) entry per person. No automated entry devices and/or programs permitted. All entries become the sole and exclusive property of the Sponsor and receipt of entries will not be acknowledged or returned. Delivery of prizes requires a street address (no P.O. Boxes). Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, stolen, incomplete, invalid, unintelligible, misdirected, technically corrupted, or garbled entries, which will be disqualified, or for problems of any kind whether mechanical, human, or electronic. Only fully completed entry forms are eligible. Proof of submission will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor.
4. How to Enter. Please submit photographs and requested information HERE. You may only submit one (1) image at a time. In order to be displayed in our online gallery without being stretched or distorted, photographs must be submitted in .jpeg, .jpg or .png format at least 2,000 pixels wide and no larger than 10 MB.
We will not accept photographs submitted through the mail and do not accept more than one (1) contestant per e-mail address. High-quality scans of non-digital photographs are acceptable. Digital photographs should be taken at the highest resolution possible.
The Sponsor may collect a photograph’s metadata upon entry.
You retain your rights to your photograph; however, by entering the Contest, you grant the Sponsor (and those authorized by Sponsor) a royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, non-exclusive license to publicly display, distribute, reproduce and create derivative works of the entries, in whole or in part, in any media now existing or later developed, for any purpose, including, but not limited to, advertising and promotion of the magazine and its website, exhibition, and commercial products, including, but not limited to, blogs and other publications. Any photograph reproduced will include a photographer credit as feasible. The Sponsor will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such uses.
5. What to Enter. The four (4) Contest categories are:
- Wildlife and landscapes: This category shares joy and adventures while expressing a sense of place. Wild animals in an uncontrolled lighting environment, zoo animals, flowers, seascapes, cityscapes, urban landscapes, and sunsets with or without people can be placed here.
- Portrait: Images can portray a subject or subjects from all walks of life and should reflect the personality of the subject(s).
- Wedding: Images can portray a subject or subjects from all aspects of a wedding, including traditional portraits, candids, or detail work.
- Fine Art/Composites: A conceptual image altered or manipulated from its original condition.
For a photo in which a person is recognizable, you must be prepared to provide a model release from the subject or, in the case of a minor, the subject’s parent or guardian, to the Sponsor upon request. A sample model release is available here.
Similarly, entrants whose photos depict other people’s work (such as sculptures, statues, paintings, and other copyrightable works) must be prepared to provide a release from the rights holder to the Sponsor upon request. When photographing the work of others, it must be as an object in its environment and not a full-frame close-up of another person's creation.
If the entrant is unable to provide all required releases, the Sponsor, at its sole discretion, reserves the right to disqualify the submission, seek to secure the required releases, or permit the submission to remain in the contest.
Photos that violate or infringe upon another person's rights, including, but not limited to copyright, are not eligible.
Photos that contain sexually explicit, nude, obscene, violent, or other objectionable or inappropriate content, as determined by the Sponsor, at its sole discretion, are ineligible for all categories of this contest.
6. Ethics. The welfare of a subject and its environment must be placed ahead of the desire to capture a photograph. Upon entering the contest, entrants certify that subjects were treated with respect and dignity, and that no people, wildlife, or the environment were harmed in creating a photograph. If baiting was used to attract wildlife, or special equipment such as camera traps and drones were used to capture the photograph, this must be disclosed. Live baiting of wildlife is not permitted.
7. Entry Deadline. The judging begins on March 29, 2021. All entries must be received through the website by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time on March 12, 2021.
8. Judging. Photo entries will be judged on creativity, quality, originality, responsiveness to the prompt, and overall impact, based on 12 Elements of Merit.
The Sponsor will select one (1) winner per category and one (1) Grand Prize winner for "Best Photograph in Show". The winners will be notified of their status and will appear on our website by April 4, 2021. The judging will be available for online viewing on Friday, April 2, 2021.
The Sponsor will notify winners via the contact information provided at the time of entry; the Sponsor may disqualify anyone who fails to respond to the notification within five (5) business days.
9. Prizes. Five prizes will be awarded, as follows:

Retail Value of Image printed on Sunset Media: $50 One (1) grand prize per person; winners may receive additional non-cash prizes. Winners must sign a release and license, as well as a declaration of eligibility, and will be responsible for paying any fees or taxes associated with the prize. All prizes are awarded “as is” and non-transferable.
10. Online Features. The Sponsor may select photos for highlight on its website or display in a publicly accessible contest archive. Such selections will be made at the Sponsor's sole discretion.
11. Additional Conditions. All entrants hold the Sponsors and their respective directors, officers, and employees (the “Indemnified Parties”) harmless from and against all claims of any nature arising in connection with the entrant’s participation in the contest and acceptance or use of a prize. The Indemnified Parties are not liable for any costs, damages, injuries, or other claims incurred as a result of entrants’ participation in the contest or winner’s acceptance and usage of a prize. The Indemnified Parties are not responsible for incomplete or misdirected entries, technical or network malfunctions or failures, or causes beyond their control. Entrants are solely responsible for their entries. Entrants may not submit materials that introduce any software viruses, worms or other programs designed to damage software, hardware, or telecommunications equipment, or are off-topic, partisan-political, contain advertising, nudity, personal attacks or expletives, or is otherwise abusive, threatening, unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, libelous, obscene, false, sexually explicit, or that infringes on the rights of any third party.
The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these rules shall otherwise remain in effect and shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.
12. Disputes; Governing Law. The parties waive all rights to trial in any action or proceeding instituted in connection with these Official Rules, including, without limitation, the Contest. Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to these Official Rules and/or the Contest shall be settled by binding arbitration in accordance with the commercial arbitration rules of the American Arbitration Association. Any such controversy or claim shall be arbitrated on an individual basis, and shall not be consolidated in any arbitration with any claim or controversy of any other party. The arbitration shall be conducted in the State of Florida.
In case of dispute as to the identity of any entrant, entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. “Authorized Account Holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) responsible for assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Any potential winner may be requested to provide Sponsor with proof that such winner is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry. Any other attempted form of entry is prohibited; no automatic, programmed; robotic or similar means of entry are permitted. Sponsor, its affiliates, partners, and promotion and advertising agencies are not responsible for technical, hardware, software, telephone or other communications malfunctions, errors or failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, website, Internet, or ISP availability, unauthorized human intervention, traffic congestion, incomplete or inaccurate capture of entry information (regardless of cause) or failed, incomplete, garbled, jumbled or delayed computer transmissions which may limit one’s ability to enter the Contest, including any injury or damage to participant’s or any other person’s computer relating to or resulting from participating in this Contest or downloading any materials in this Contest.
THESE OFFICIAL RULES AND THE INTERPRETATION OF ITS TERMS SHALL BE GOVERNED BY AND CONSTRUED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF FLORIDA WITHOUT REGARD TO ITS CONFLICTS OF LAWS RULES. For any matters which are not subject to arbitration as set forth in these Official Rules and/or in connection with the entering of any judgment on an arbitration award in connection with these Official Rules and/or the Contest, the parties irrevocably submit and consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in or closest to the County of Sarasota in the State of Florida. The parties agree not to raise the defense of forum non conveniens.
13. Use of Data. Sponsor will be collecting personal data about entrants online, in accordance with its privacy policy. Please review the Sponsor’s privacy policy at https://www.sone.com/privacy-and-cookies-policy. By participating in the Contest, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor’s privacy policy.
